Deepak Juneja joined (then) Confederation of Engineering Industry in 1990. He completes 28 years of working with CII, evolving with the transformation of the organization. Deepak has worked in diverse fields and has undertaken varied responsibilities including, travel, tourism, hospitality, office administration, marketing, infrastructure development, special projects, such as “High Volume Fly-ash Concrete (HVFAC) Technology” and sustainable development.
He has been on the Advisory Board of the Maharashtra Fly Ash Information Centre and has contributed papers on Fly-ash Concrete to Civil Engineering & Construction journals. During the special project duration of three years, he travelled across the country organizing awareness workshops, technical seminars, undertaking research studies with technical institutions and implementing demonstration projects with several construction & cement companies and a number of Government PWD & Municipal departments and Delhi Metro proving the utility, durability and longevity of the HVFAC.
He moved to CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development at the time of its inception, leading sustainability outreach activities and branding through conceptualizing and organization of events focusing on Sustainable Development, including Centre’s flagship event Sustainability Summit for 12 years reaching out to over 6000 people. He has also been associated with other important initiatives of the Centre of Excellence, such as Business Leaders Programme in partnership with Cornell University, and had initiated and handled in-house magazine “Sustainability Tomorrow” and E-newsletter “Sustainability Outlook”. After working in sustainability sphere for over 12 years, Deepak has now moved to Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), a new raising by CII to fulfil a long felt need of bringing together Indian industry across multiple chambers, to be the apex body of the Indian defence industry. He is looking after membership connect and recruitment, statutory compliance, internal services and other outreach initiatives.
Deepak is a Bachelor in Tourism from University of Delhi and has done Post Graduation in Tourism. He has undertaken advanced language course in Spanish for 3 years.
