Synergising Indian Industry Towards Mitigating Sustenance Challenges of Indian Army

21 – 22 April 2020, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi

Master General of Ordinance (MGO) Branch in its ongoing quest for ensuring and achieving effective sustenance, has put in place an institutionalised mechanism in the form of Annual MGO Industry Cooperation Meet (AMICOM), which aims to set up a stage where direct interaction with Indian defence industry takes place. AMICOM provides a platform-based opportunity to make industry understand the sustenance requirement of Indian Army and comprehend the capability, requirement and concerns of industry.

The AMICOM 2015, 2016 and 2017 have made exhaustive efforts to deliberate on the critical sustenance requirement of Indian Army and blend the capability of Indian industry towards mitigating them. The annual requirements of spares/ items of critical weapon system were compiled and released during AMICOM in the form of a booklet “Olive Pages”. In addition, olive pages enunciated revenue procurement procedures, latest policies in-vogue and contact details of various agencies involved in the procurement process. An overwhelming response has been received from the industry and the initiative has helped in enhancing the vendor base in respect of many critical and ex-import range of spares that are in short supply and are adversely affecting the serviceability and operational reliability of Indian Army.

Taking the initiative forward, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) & Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) jointly with Master General of Ordnance (MGO), Indian Army is organizing the 4th Annual MGO - Industry Cooperation Meeting on 21 – 22 April 2020 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

The Aim of AMICOM 2020 is to provide the Indian Defence Industry a comprehensive insight into the challenges faced in sustenance of equipment of Indian Army and opportunities it offers to the industry, as also evolve / review a road map to achieve maximum indigenisation and self-dependence in the spares domain of defence equipment through a collaborative approach.
