Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Development Programme
CII & SIDM’s
Vendor Development Programme
1400 – 1800 hrs. | Wednesday, 19 June 2019 | Ordnance Gun Carriage Factory in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh
India has a long legacy of defence production, most of which has been championed by the Indian Ordnance Factories - a group of 41 Ordnance Factories under the aegis of Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), Kolkata. Ordnance Factories possess the unique distinction of over 200 years of experience in defence production and are engaged in production, testing, logistics, research, development and marketing of a comprehensive product range in the area of land, sea and air systems.
Over the last few years, private sector companies in the Indian defence manufacturing industry have grown not just in numbers but also in capability. The 41 Ordnance Factories spanning the country already outsource production of various components and subcomponents to small or medium scale enterprises. However, the number of items which are outsourced are far and few, as is private sector participation in such opportunities.
The Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) aims to increase participation of private sector vendors (especially MSMEs) in the supply chain of ordnance factories across the country, with the view of optimising efficiency, speeding up production and energising the Indian defence manufacturing sector. To that end, SIDM will conduct a series of ‘Stakeholder Engagement and Vendor Development Programmes’ all over India with the objective to strengthen armed force, reinforce our industry and support the MSMEs, the lifeline of defence manufacturers including Ordnance factories, Defence PSUs and upcoming Public & Private sector. The broad focus area of these programmes will be vendor base enhancement, cluster development, private sector involvement in opportunities for indigenisation and platform level sharing of orders.
SIDM in partnership with OFB and Ordnance Gun Carriage Factory is organizing a Stakeholder Engagement and Vendors Development Programme on Wednesday, 19 June 2019 at Ordnance Gun Carriage Factory in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. This programme will bring together senior officials from 4 Ordnance Factories in and around Jabalpur, namely:
- Vehicle Factory Jabalpur
- Ordnance Factory Khamaria, Jabalpur
- Gun Carriage Factory, Jabalpur
- Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur
The programme will facilitate interaction between senior officials from the factory who oversee procurement and vendor registration, who will share their procurement and production requirements. In addition, the programme will also have a session on other business opportunities available to existing as well as new vendors in defence production and help consolidate vendors all over India.
We are pleased to invite you to attend the seminar. Please note that registration is on first come first serve basis. For any query or assistance, please contact Mr. Yashvardhan Verma on firstname.lastname@example.org or +91 11 45772046.
