Upcoming Engagements

Indian Navy – Industry Partnership Webinars & Exhibition on Indigenisation and Innovation

29–31 Dec 2022 | Virtual platform

The Indian Navy (IN) has always championed indigenisation and has a fully functional 'Directorate of Indigenisation' (DoI). To effectively target 'Indigenisation' and 'Innovation', IN had setup `Naval Indigenisation and Innovation Organisation' (NIIO) in the year 2020 which puts in place dedicated structures for the end users to interact with academia and industry for achieving self-reliance in defence.

To take forward Indian Navy’s agenda of ‘Innovation and Indigenisation’, NIIO, Indian Navy and SIDM have planned a long-term engagement with the Industry spread over one year starting from 29 October 2021 till 31 December 2022 on the CII-HIVE Platform, covering all verticals including Shipbuilding, Refits/Repair, Naval Armaments, Naval equipment, and all Revenue provisioning including Clothing & Victualing

Towards this, Indian Navy and SIDM have set up a Virtual Platform for the entire duration, during which, periodic seminars (at least one per month), interactions & B2G meetings with individual verticals of IN will be organized to spell out the IN’s requirements and understand the industry capabilities in each sector through these engagements.

To attend the monthly Sessions, register as a delegate by clicking here..

Industry members are encouraged to make the best use of this ‘never before opportunity’ for a long-term engagement with the various Directorates of the Indian Navy and present their capabilities and latest advancements in the sector to the end users.

“Indigenisation & Development of New Technologies in Technical Textile for Defence & Aerospace with Collaborative Partnership”

Technical Textiles contribute over 13% of total revenue of the Indian Textile Industry with a potential to grow its share to 20% over next three years. With several policy initiatives of the Government pushing indigenisation & modernisation, there has been a rising demand from Indian Defence Forces, making the sector highly lucrative for business.

The erstwhile Ordinance Factory Board, now corporatized into DPSUs, strongly supported by the Private Industry have developed Indigenous products and technologies in the technical textile domain to equip our Armed Forces.

To take this partnership further SIDM is planning an Interactive Session with Gliders India Limited and Troops Comfort Ltd at Kanpur on 21 December 2022.

The visit is aimed to provide the relevant stakeholders in Technical Textiles, an opportunity to interact with the senior officials of GIL & TCL and get a brief on business opportunities available for collaborations. The participants would also have the opportunity to see and feel the products with the technical officers available to answer any queries.

Companies interested are requested to give their consent to participate through the form in the link below at earliest, latest by 15 December 2022.
