Gujarat is emerging as a strategic Defence manufacturing hub with rapidly expanding Industrial eco-system in the State is supported by TASL, Adani Defence & Aerospace, Jaivel Aerospace (Sanand), HAL, L&T Defence, BDL, PTC Industries, and several MSME. Institutions like National Forensic Sciences University and Raksha Rashtriya University have emerged as knowledge and Innovations centers for strategic matters. This ecosystem is further strengthened by premier academic institutions including IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Gandhinagar, a well robust infrastructure of Air, Sea and Land transportation Network , making it an ideal choice for “Make in India” initiatives to strengthen the National security.
With an expanding customer base and increasing procurement opportunities, the region presents significant business potential for MSMEs and Startups in the states to become active contributors to India’s Defence manufacturing growth story.
Towards this, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited supported by Confederation of Indian Industry are jointly organizing the Regional Defence MSME Conclave on 18th September, 2026 at Vadodara.
The objective of the Conclave is to encourage MSME and Start-ups in the State in the design, development, manufacturing, testing, and sustenance of Defence systems and technologies.
