Indian MoD and Defence Industry Delegation Visit to Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Department of Defence Production (DDP), MoD, GoI; the High Commission of India, Colombo, Sri Lanka; and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) are jointly organising an Indian Ministry of Defence and Defence Industry Delegation Visit to Colombo on 20 March 2026 to participate in the Defence Export Promotion Seminar being organised by the Defence Wing, High Commission of India, Colombo.

 The seminar will include:

• Presentations by Indian companies on defence products and technologies.

• Interactions with senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, Government of Sri Lanka; the Sri Lanka Armed Forces; the Sri Lanka Police; and the Special Task Force.

• Focused sessions on Land, Aerial, and Naval platforms

• Insights into Sri Lanka’s emerging defence and UN-related requirements

 Key Domains & Areas of Interest:

• Advanced Avionics & Navigation Systems

• Advanced Training Simulators

• Anti-Drone Systems

• Armoured Vehicles; vehicle, aircraft, boat, and building protection solutions

           Curtain Raiser - North Tech Symposium 2026

HQ Northern Command, Indian Army in collaboration with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) are organising North Tech Symposium 2026 being held from 04th – 06th May 2026 at Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Northern Command, one of the most operationally active Commands of the Indian Army, is responsible for safeguarding India’s Northern frontiers across diverse and challenging terrains in varied temperatures. Its operational environment necessitates specialised, reliable and technologicallyadvanced equipment, to address to these emerging threats and prepare for future challenges.

North Tech Symposium 2026 will serve as a focused unified platform for the defence industry and start-ups to showcase their technical capabilities, equipment and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency of the Indian Army. The equipment exhibited will be shortlisted by officials into procurement for HQ Northern Command and other Indian Army commands for future procurement under Army Cdr Special Financial Powers delegated to Army Commands and by Central Procurement Directorates under the Capital Budget.

To facilitate this, the Symposium will feature:

1. Defence technology & equipment exhibition 

2. Structured  Live Demonstrations

3. NCNC Demo of shortlisted and equipment offered by Industry from May to October 2026

4. Special Focus on Medical equipment and innovative solutions

5. Stall visits by procurement heads

7. Structured B2B and B2G engagements

8. Opportunities in UP Defence eco-system

The event is set to chart the course of future procurements in the light of  the Union Budget 2026-27 which saw a nearly 16% increase in the Defence budget, within which the Capital budget increased 20%.
